Fingers or mushrooms?

Imagine you are walking through a forest or woods, and you come across this frightening sight. No one would blame you for thinking you came across a corpse in a shallow grave. In reality, you are looking at a mushroom called “dead man’s fingers”.

Commonly found in Europe and North America, this scary-looking mushroom is the cause of many calls to rangers and law enforcement from hikers who have stumbled upon dead man's fingers and have thought it was something more sinister. Of all the things Mother Nature could have chosen to create, she did this, scaring unsuspecting hikers every year.
