We, too, were a little startled when we first saw this photo of a branch of seed pods. With their strange centers, they look like eyeballs, making us wonder why anyone would be walking around with a bunch of eyeballs.
Mother Nature has a way of protecting her flora and fauna, and these seeds look the way they do to keep birds and other creatures away that might want to make a meal of them.
