5 - Sure science and technology can give them the limbs, which can also function just normal for these people. Prosthetic medicine (or is it prosthetic science?) can't give a prosthetic mind. In other words, the persons adapt well to changing situations, if they believe what they have got is the most normal thing for life. 

Sometimes their body can reject a prosthetic limb or even prosthetic heart valve. Before that, the person's mind should be willing to accept the prosthetic addition. Acceptance of the prosthetic limb by the mind is the prelude to the body accepting it.
