This moray eel bit off more than it could chew when it decided to make a meal of a pufferfish. Pufferfish are known to increase their size to ward off predators. This one must have had a delayed reaction after being eaten by the eel, as it swelled up in the latter’s mouth, killing both creatures.
This unusual sight was captured by scuba diver Tim Mayer in the Cook Islands and has become a popular photo that depicts Mother Nature’s battle between predator and prey at its finest.
